These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AfterCall (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The service
AfterCall is an AI-powered note-taking and study assistant for students. It helps you capture notes, record and transcribe lectures, seminars, calls and meetings, learn with the AI Tutor, and revise with Exam Coach.
Who can use AfterCall
You must be at least 13 years old to use AfterCall. If you're under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use AfterCall only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when signing up, and let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
Recording — your responsibility
AfterCall lets you record lectures, lessons, calls and meetings. Recording another person without proper consent is illegal in many places — some U.S. states, for example, require every participant's consent, not just yours — and many schools, colleges and universities have their own rules about recording. You are solely responsible for knowing and following the recording-consent laws and rules that apply to you and everyone you record. AfterCall shows a reminder before you record, but that reminder does not substitute for your own legal responsibility, and we are not liable for how you use the recording feature.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use AfterCall to: record anyone without required consent; upload content you don't have the right to share; share or republish past papers, mark schemes or other material that belongs to someone else; attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or scrape the Service; resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission; or use the Service for anything illegal.
AI-generated content
Notes, summaries, transcripts, study plans, explanations, practice questions, model answers and marking are generated by AI and may contain mistakes — names misheard, details summarized imprecisely, a mark that's too generous. Exam Coach's own practice questions are not past papers, and its model answers and marking are not official; check requirements against your own syllabus or institution. Review anything AfterCall generates before you rely on it.
Plans and billing
AfterCall offers a Free plan and two paid plans, Pro and Max. Pricing for each is shown on our billing page and may change with notice. Paid subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until canceled. You can cancel any time from your account; you'll keep your plan's access through the end of the period you already paid for. If a payment fails, we may downgrade your account to the Free plan's limits — your existing notes and data are not deleted.
Your content
You own the notes, recordings, and other content you create and put into AfterCall; material made by others, such as past papers and mark schemes, stays theirs. You give us permission to process it (including sending it to Anthropic and Deepgram, as described in our Privacy Policy) solely to provide the Service to you.
Our content
The AfterCall name, branding, and software are our property. These Terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond using the Service as intended.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AfterCall is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including damages related to AI-generated content or to call recording. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, including misuse of the recording feature or abusive use of the Service.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
